The company is implementing changes to gain market share and operate more efficiently. Despite the challenges of the past year, Agrifirm is facing the future with confidence.

Foot-and-Mouth Disease – the basis for understanding the disease

Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) is a viral disease affecting all domestic and wild species of cloven-hoofed animals, including cattle, sheep, goats, buffaloes and swine. It is considered one of the most contagious animal diseases due to several factors: numerous susceptible species, multiple transmission routes, high resistance in the environment and animal products, low infective dose, virus excretion before clinical signs appear, lack of protection between serotypes, and limited cross-protection between subtypes.

Royal Agrifirm Group appoints Piet Hilarides as new Chief Executive Officer

On 1 December, Piet Hilarides will join Royal Agrifirm Group as its new CEO. Piet will succeed Dick Hordijk who, as previously communicated, will resign on 1 January 2025 after eight years as CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group.

Upcoming change of CEO at Royal Agrifirm Group

Dick Hordijk became CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group in June 2016. Over the past eight years, Dick has led Agrifirm through two strategic planning periods, ensuring that Royal Agrifirm Group has always remained current in this rapidly changing industry. With the new strategy for 2025 - 2028 really taking shape, the Supervisory Board and Dick have jointly concluded that, following two four-year terms, now is a logical time to hand over the reins to a successor.
